My character is a female elf... admittedly, she is a bit butch, so some dyke action is entirely possible.

And I sell most gifts. I hang on to one or two, in case someone gets ticked with me, but really, if they want to leave, I will kill them and pillage their corpses.
I once gave my Mabari dog a bone as a gift, but I don't think that qualifies as soft porn.

Got lucky yet? If you butter up the chicks with gifts you can watch some soft porn.

It's a 50/50 thing.
If I can tell the guy I'm talking to is probably going to fight, I'll use the abuse options in the dialogue to rile him up, and skip the responses (hit 'esc' when he starts to babble. Then the text appears at the top of the screen, and generally, I can read faster than they speak). If it seems like important babble, I'll listen to it, to see if there are leads to future missions.

Admittedly, Shale is fun to listen to, when he contributes to discussions. Things like "It may be more forthcoming if I rip off some of it's less important parts" (that was the argument that convinced the ferry man to take us to the circle tower)

But I'm damned sure not reading all that crap in the Codex!

Looks like you are enjoying the game Jules, you following the dialogue or skipping through it?

Ooops.
The dwarf at Redcliff was cowering in his house when I went there. I broke in and found him and his bodyguards, and tried to convince him to help fight the zombies. They gave me lip... then they all died. Guess he won't be joining my party.

Actually I now know for a fact who all the recruitable people is... And that dude isnt one of them

If you Add Mr X to the list that I posted earlier then you have a complete list. Got the "recruiter" award yesterday

It certainly pays to take on and complete all the Chantry board missions (and the mission bag jobs at the Circle tower). You get neat goodies, money and, of course, experience.

I've found the 'time limit' missions really aren't...
At Redcliff, I opted for 'go fetch a bunch of circle mages' instead of 'sacrifice the silly pseudo-french bitch'. They told me I have a day to go get the mages.
Instead, I went all over the countryside, fulfilling side missions, etc. When I finally got around to going back to Redcliff, they were still waiting. So much for the urgency.
And here I was hoping the Demon would slaughter all the remaining villagers and repopulate with ghouls and such, so I could, in turn, kill them.

I think I am going to have to start the game over and try and figure out how you use the spells and stuff properly, not to mention all the other bits and bobs that you need to get to do.

(I got stuck, so instead of getting frustrated, I thought maybe it best to start over.)

folowers I have been able to aquire having played the game twice

Alastair
My Wardog
Liliana
Wynne
Sten
Oghren(A dwarf from ozamar)
Morigan
and that elf dude from the antivan crows

there was a dwarf also in redclif which I wasnt able to recruit cos I only discovered him after the main quest there has been done

As a footnote: You have to spend a shit load of time to get a character up to level 20(I havent been able to get a character up to that level) I am on level 19 now(the first time around I didnt do a lot of the side quests)

Shot-oh, chaps!

The golem, Shale, I re-activated in an arb little village that got pwned by Darkspawn, after I wasted all the darkies and killed the demon holding the mage's daughter (had to solve a really annoying puzzle thing as part of the mission, too). It was DL content I got the free code for in the box (also got one for Mass Effect 2 on the same voucher).
This is part of the reason why I buy boxes off the shelf, instead of buying softeware I still have to spend Bandwidth on, online. There are often bonus goodies in the case.
Borderlands had one too, for an uber-sweet machine gun, as I have only played the soldier.
Got one for L4D2 aswell, but haven't redeemed that yet.

I recommend going to get Shale if you can, coz that dude kicks ass! He has a 'rock lob' trick that just pwns bad guys at range, too. He's my tank.

So far, my minions are :
Alistair the wussy fag knight
Morigan the miserable w(b)itch
Gore the Mabari war dog
Sten the half-orc-ish warrior
Wynne the circle mage
Shale the golem
Liliana the mostly worthless rogue (AKA cannon fodder-cum-lock opener)

1. Ya, for runes, go to the caravan at your camp and speak to the 2 there, the younger does enchantment.
2. Never got the golem.
3. As a rogue, I got another specialisation from an elven chick in one of the taverns. The 2nd time I just got the option when I leveled up. Might be worthwhile to google your class type and see who you need to speak to. There are lots of guides online.
