People use it for Bitcoining. Hence the interest.

get the R9-290 and spend the extra on the cooler then.

by pmurgs » Fri Nov 29, 2013 1:02 pm

The extra price is more than I'm willing to pay on the X model.

by Skouperd » Fri Nov 29, 2013 1:00 pm

I'd wait if I was you, I have a feeling the R9-290x will really start to shine when they sort out their cooling.

I had it crossfired with a 5850. Worked great.

Got my eye on a new R9 290. Dunno if I'm going to wait for the models with custom coolers to arrive or just go with the reference one.

by SlipperyDuck » Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:51 pm

Probably intends to CrossFire connect it.

Already got 4 people interested and one is coming round this evening to take it cash... so I guess it's sold.

Didn't think there would be so much demand, since it's such a big card with high power requirements and somewhat dated.

by Skouperd » Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:33 pm

These was great cards and the price is reasonable. Good luck Murgs.

Just in case anyone is interested. Already posted it to Carbonite. I have a reference design ATi 5970 2Gb (dual gpu card) for sale. R2000 on Carbonite but I'd let it go for R1800 to someone in Grrr.

Be aware its a long card (no small cases) and requires a 8 pin and 6 pin power connecter.
