Hi Guys

The community has asked for a public server with dgl maps and settings.
I will set the server like this, please be aware of this if you log and want change maps. Make sure the setting remain the same.

I'm worried it's going to introduce lag, but I'm not sure how the netcode works at all.

Let me look into setting up a layer server on one of my custmer machines on the internet - always on- see if it's possible - and free

Can we think of any reason why an internationally hosted ProCon server would cause problems?

by Hubris » Sun Dec 15, 2013 11:33 am

Nope the BMW guys are running a south african one so they couldn't give any advice. I'll leave my PC on from today hopefully it stays up and nothing force majure happens. Last resort Eggy can admin until we get organised in the new year.

Anyone got an answer on this?

by SlipperyDuck » Tue Dec 10, 2013 1:23 pm

any server where they have automated stuff happening including balancing is done with a layer server.

by Hubris » Tue Dec 10, 2013 1:18 pm

That is an interesting question. I'm not 100% sure. I think BMW are running a layer I'll try get some answers from them and do some research and see if any issues would come up with int hosting.

Good idea and approved from my side Jarrod. Lets find out if we can do the international thing first however.

Do we know other SA server owners with the layer?
