Double post FTFWBB!

Here's some screenies with bad drawings on them to make you more confused about my plans for Origins:

This is on the South of the small island and is the base of our looting operations. The heli island is quite closeby to the East and we can utilise that beach area to do some safe drop-offs and pickups from resupply runs.

The arrows just indicate the typical approach for most players (avoid). I think we should prefer Alpha beach through Delta, since we have to leave our heli there for some time unless we land directly on the hotel stronghold.

Hahaha too true. Well I found a VS which has like 50 weapon slots and 200 item slots stashed away for us as a resupply vehicle. I'm working on the SUV and parts for the chopper too. We should be sorted soon, got some good farming in last night and today. It has been epic so far and we havn't even set foot on Sector B yet!

In the gunfight Nom and I had there were literally 10 guys involved, over 4 cars including 2 SUVs. We managed to destroy the one SUV and that's the one that respawned. So despite losing some top end gear and a chopper, it wasn't a total fail. I recovered quickly that evening and got a bicycle which has helped alot in terms of moving around.

-- Wow you can be productive on sick days hey! Managed to get the VS going, then got parts for the SUV and got that going. Now we have two cars, one for storage and one for missions. I have started scrounging the heli supplies and will try get that going soon but I will need help from le professionals.

Nom you should re-spawn at Metrovice and try get an Alice, Map, Compass and a bit of food/drink. I have found another gun like the one you had and have a few STANAG to spare. Get involved boeit! I reckon we're literally two hours or so away from having a heli and an SUV again.

I reckon going forward we always have one person dedicated to the Heli and if we do drop people off for ground missions for supplies they use the SUV while the heli waits to pick them up again. It's just too valuable to lose/rebuild AGAIN. I don't mind doing that, but it does mean I'll miss out on some of the fun :(

Salvation city is a bit different as we have to use the chopper to get in and out before the server restart. We could stay there over the restart, but the heli would respawn back at the mainland. So it's crucial we park it somewhere clever and get in/out quickly.

I've realised a big key to DayZ is understanding that deaths happen and every life should be preparing for another life to make it easier. So plan ahead, get some transportation, set up a loot run, take everything worth something you see and cycle the rest of the loot. Repeat the loot run and you get going very fast!

Epic times on Saturday on Taviana! A day full of DayZ goodness. Repairing up a chopper and cruising the skies with pilot Stef was epic. Desync put in me the middle of the ocean, but my trusty pilot did a baywatch sky rescue! Then nonchalant joined us for some more good times. Epic chopper bail by Stef and we lost our chopper. Managed to get 4 kills with the SA58 ACOG during the course of the day. BEAST GUN.

Pity we lost the SUV of style, but that is the DayZ way. You make progress and when you think you've got it covered, you lose it. Haha!
Moral of your story Stef, don't go hunting unless you have a professional with you :)

Hahaha so we have built a chopper twice now, destroyed it twice. Today NoMaD and I threw away our gear to kill some noobs on the airfield. Really silly. Back in the building phase. At least Phatso still has his stuff, but both the SUV and the Heli are gone. I have started repairing a new car and farming for more loot. Hopefully within a week we should be back on our feet! Moral of the story: don't go chasing action on Origins until you've done Salvation.

Hey guys,

I am deffos very keen. just need to finish my n3 course. spare time is a bit scarce this year

Cool we have a party of 4 which is plenty. We're planning to get going around 10 or 11 AM tomorrow (Saturday) on the UK003 server: 88.208.219.169:2402. You will be able to choose where to spawn and both of you should choose Metrovice. 038/072.

It's on the small island and I'm not far away with the SUV to pick you up. I have three tents to run you past so you can gear up a bit and then we start looting for the remaining windscreen glass for the chopper and basic supplies for our trip.

We may even get the chopper repped up and moved to a safer location lets see how our day goes! We can't go to Salvation just yet cos Dry is at Ramfest but we can still have some fun. I am keeping a Cayote, a M4A3 ACOG GL, a VSS and some equipments for Dry so don't steal those ;)

Stubags I'm thinking of giving away copies of ARMA2 CombinedOps if you can't get one, but I think they're around $13 or ~R100. Half price now, so really cheap actually it's no big deal. Origins is also coming out with another update soon with extended end game so gonna be interesting.

Stef, you are correct that ArmAIII is not DayZ and that playing DayZ now, will give you good practice for SA (StandAlone).

Sorry I haven't had time to get Origins installed and to get jamming. Its just the A3 bug at the moment and there is only so much to do until they fix the niggly issues that an Alpha always has. The game needs optimization.

I will get the mod installed this evening and get cracking ASAP. I know the excitement of DayZ and it is well epic and still has its merit.
I just got a bit sick of the mod because before you even started playing, I was in the exact same position. Playing solo is not fun and you need a group. Will make it happen.

I just trashed my budget on Arma III :( not to fear only 18 days till I can get Arma II bought. I like the Arma series from OFP so willing to splash out if you see any specials let me know and I'll jump on the bad wagon.

If anyone is planning on playing DayZ ever, I suggest you start before standalone.

Some people thought there's no point playing DayZ since ARMA 3 is out and they're wrong - the standalone is not based on ARMA 3. It's based on Take on Helicopters which is an ARMA 2 based game - with some revisions. Confirmed by Rocket himself and DayZ is officially a product so I'm sure some IP restriction does apply.

Since NOONE RESPONDED - fuck you guys - I went along and started. I found an SUV, a Heli and a great spot to loot farm. So basically I have top gear and vehicles to hit the island and some to spare for Dry. I seriously can't recommend this more, all you have to do is download the mod (1GB), choose your spawn point, get into the loot farm position and farm that place literally 5 times (2 hours max) and you are good to go.

Obviously if people were interested I would loot for them to help but since no one is I havn't. I could give up to 6 guys a lift to the island as planned, but I won't. I'll send you guys a postcard from Salvation with a drawing of a dick on it. Because you like it like that. FUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!11

It's fine, seriously, it's just fine. People miss out on epic quests all the time and I save a lot of dollar.
