Re: First Impressions

I have a Soldier on Lvl 26 now I believe, so I reckon I can cut it with the rest of ya'll now...

should be good... Still enjoying the game and killing bozzezzz finding out all the sweet spots... I've chosen to try and skill up all my weapon usage as evenly possible and am heavy into my infantry Skills although I do tend to run short on ammo I have bought a couple ammo mods to increase my capacity...

I also have a couple of really cool leader mods and such things...

Well my Turret gives me ammo, so if I run out, I just goi it on the ground stand near by and it reloads me.

But I do have to wait for it to recharge

Definitely a worthwhile buy.
Nothing sucks more than having to scrounge around for ammo, or having to use a lesser weapon because you don't have ammo for the best one (my combat rifle skill is at level 12, whereas my next highest, sniper rifle and SMG, are only at level 8).
Sure, ammo is cheap at the vending machines, but it still runs out during missions (I can take on and complete numerous missions before turning in, coining the XP in the process) and scratching about in the skag poop is tedious, not to mention not very profitable. All I ever pick up is money or weapons I want (or want to sell. Some are worth a lot of dough).

I can stand in one spot and spray rockets into a fray (my launcher does 500 points damage, plus a x4 fire modifier) and never run out of ammo.
Add to that the turret spewing out rockets, healing, rearming, etc. and I am quite formidable.

That is exactly what I am talking about, I think I saw this exact same mod and wasn't sure if it was worth buy (was flippen expensive)

Remember, you're also getting XP for 'achievenments'... Go to your 'mission page' and press space to toggle through the lists. Each achievement you make gives you XP. The li'l ones, like 'kill 25 skags' you will get early on, but are worth less XP than the 'kill 10 000 skags' so the game is kinda designed to level out the playing field over time.
I just made level 29 soldier (support gunner) and I've noticed I only get 1XP for road-killing or shooting little bad guys (Bandits, Skags, Scythins).

I was playing MP with Shaolingtiger on Friday night, adn he went from level 4 to level 16 in about 2 hours, in my level 26 campaign. He did spend a fair amount of time immobile, but I managed to keep him from dying most of the time. So if your're looking for quick level-ups, just play alongside the big boys for a while

Hmmm does that apply to single player as well? I am at New Haven now, some of the mission take me back to The Badlands and when I kill those "little" skags (usually just with Melee) I don't get any XP points.

Every little Xp counts you know

P.S. You do realise that I hate you guys even more now for forcing me to become addicted to this and removing all my free time!

XP and Cash is given equally.

ie. $25 falls on the floor and you pick it up. . . then everyone gets +$25
Same with XP, though, I suspect that you get a little bit more XP when you get the kill shot, having said that, the person with the lowest Level gets more XP than a higher level.
Also if someone is leaps ahead in terms of level, they get no XP @ all for killing the bad ones.. .. .

I specifically tried to level up as fast as I could so I could catch up with you guys.

Question about XP on MP (lol at acronyms), do you share XP amoung the team e.g. I kill a dude worht 1000XP, does everyone get 250XP or do I jsut get?

I have seen a couple of Class-Mods where it references "Team" stuff but I don't want to buy it (money is scarse) if it won't help

Dood, we're only @ like Level 28 -- You really do seem to level up quicker in Single Player, probably because FAF around time = 1 X FAF rather than 4 X FAF.
But yeah, if you're enjoying the Single Player, sheesh dood, you're in for a treat with the Multiplayer ... It's rougher, it's tougher and all round buffer :D

Ok so I went out and got this game, also got a T-shirt because it was the last one in stock and some douchebag didn't come pick up his pre-order.

Anyway here are my thoughts, first the bad. Well most of it has been said, the no AA can really be noticable at time and my settings don't seem to save until I change the config file, even my key bindings aren't working.
I don't know if this is just my machine but the sound is not so good especially the direction i.e. if the claptrap is on my right/left it sounds better that when he is infornt. SOme time I hear a bad guy to my side but he is actually infront of me.

The good, well it is hell of a fun and that is just single player so far. Totally different from BF2 in the way you approach your enemies and fight. Even through there are 87 Gazillion guns I really like how there are just 6 or 7 types of ammo and you don't have to worry about finding specific ammom for every type of gun.

Also the level up and skill tree is really simple. So all in all it is a very cool game, I am on Level 21 Soldier already (I am sure most of you are on Level 35 or so). Once I hist level 25 with some cool weapons I will join you guys in MP
