Hahaha too true. Well I found a VS which has like 50 weapon slots and 200 item slots stashed away for us as a resupply vehicle. I'm working on the SUV and parts for the chopper too. We should be sorted soon, got some good farming in last night and today. It has been epic so far and we havn't even set foot on Sector B yet!
In the gunfight Nom and I had there were literally 10 guys involved, over 4 cars including 2 SUVs. We managed to destroy the one SUV and that's the one that respawned. So despite losing some top end gear and a chopper, it wasn't a total fail. I recovered quickly that evening and got a bicycle which has helped alot in terms of moving around.
-- Wow you can be productive on sick days hey! Managed to get the VS going, then got parts for the SUV and got that going. Now we have two cars, one for storage and one for missions. I have started scrounging the heli supplies and will try get that going soon but I will need help from le professionals.
Nom you should re-spawn at Metrovice and try get an Alice, Map, Compass and a bit of food/drink. I have found another gun like the one you had and have a few STANAG to spare. Get involved boeit! I reckon we're literally two hours or so away from having a heli and an SUV again.
I reckon going forward we always have one person dedicated to the Heli and if we do drop people off for ground missions for supplies they use the SUV while the heli waits to pick them up again. It's just too valuable to lose/rebuild AGAIN. I don't mind doing that, but it does mean I'll miss out on some of the fun

Salvation city is a bit different as we have to use the chopper to get in and out before the server restart. We could stay there over the restart, but the heli would respawn back at the mainland. So it's crucial we park it somewhere clever and get in/out quickly.
I've realised a big key to DayZ is understanding that deaths happen and every life should be preparing for another life to make it easier. So plan ahead, get some transportation, set up a loot run, take everything worth something you see and cycle the rest of the loot. Repeat the loot run and you get going very fast!
