For anyone who's keen to give LOTRO another bash, be it firing up your long-neglected lvl 60-somethings, or starting a new character for the first time, I thought I'd set up a schedule so that myself and the WrG kin members can help you level/kit you out with weapons and armour/explain the intricacies of some aspects of the game etc, with the ultimate aim of getting you up to lvl 75 where the end game quests, instances, raids and skirmishes are kick ass.

To put you in the picture, one of the regular weekly raids we do, Draigoch, involves taking 12 players into a dragon's lair, where the floor is knee-deep in gold and treasure, to challenge the Godzilla-sized beast and loot his horde. Success depends on coordinating fellowship manoeuvres, keeping everyone from being burnt to toast, and being topped up on pipe weed and beer. MASSIVE jol, awesome teamwork experience, and a different pace to fps in general.

To dispel the myth, you don't need to invest all your free time in this MMO to get anywhere (I do it because I love the game ;) ).

As for the WrG with whom I play, they are all very easy-going and entertaining and keen for more players to bolster the numbers. *cue the 'j0nny <3 WrG' chirps* I guess one of the main reasons for posting this is that I miss squadding up with the grrr guys and gals and talking kak in Mumble, but I'm just not bitten by the BF3 bug as hard as most of yous. I understand that MMO's are not everyone's cup o' tea, but i thought I'd extend the offer to anyone considering this one.

BF3 pracs are scheduled for Tues and Wed with matches on Sundays, so if you're keen for a change of pace and game on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays, hop in the WrG public Mumble channel and go to the Lotro channel. (PM me if you need login details). NB: The Geeks have a no swearing policy in their chat channels due to having some younger kin members; pls respect this if you do decide to join ;)

For FRODOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I kinda wanna, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get gaming time - but, yeah - I'm keen to see the giant raids of legend.

Some screenshots from our last raid and slaying of the the Draigoch to whet your appetite :D Best thing about LOTRO is it just allows for lots of talking rubbish and laughing. More relaxed and stress free than shooting. But I still like my shooting :) It's always nice to play a few games to balance things out.

Raid starts by running down a series of tunnels, avoiding the dragons gaze or you get burnt to a crisp.
