So, I've been smurfing a bit with a second character which has been going well. The most enjoyable thing is the anonymity - not having to worry about making a team effort etc. You're free to go quite gung ho and not give a rat's ass what ppl think of your attitude to MCOMM Stations or Flag caps etc.
Last night I jumped on with my smurf for 30 mins before the clannie against iG. I was having an epic sniper round - 13-0 KDR - and had found an awesome place behind enemy lines where I was sniping at will. All was going perfectly until I got a crash to menu screen due to losing connection to EA. It got into a fairly routine bug where you sit there waiting for 10mins for your stats to update and nothing happens. I did what I usually do in this situation and Ctrl+Alt+Deleted out of the game and ended the task. When I restarted BC2 and logged in, I logged in as s3xy_j0nny because the match was drawing closer and there were teamies on the pub servers warming up and I wanted to join in. Somehow, my stats have been epically switched...
When I logged in as s_j, it took longer than usual to update my stats, but when it finally logged me in, it didnt remember any of my awards, kills, ranks, unlocks - nothing. On the in-game stats screen, I have no points or awards or weapon stats or anything else - only my dog tags. It shows my score as 0, but in the leaderboards list it has them all there, and I'm in the ranking tables, same as the friends leaderboard. All stat tracking sites are updating my stats as per usual, and when I load into a game, I have all unlocks available to me as per normal.
As if this wasn't weird enough, I decided to check my smurf's stats to see if they are affected. On the in-game stats page, it has my number of kills, score, KDR and everything as it should be for my smurf, but on the awards page, I have all the Insignia & Pins that I got with my main character. In game, I only have the weapons I have unlocked with my smurf and everything plays as per normal there as well. Stats sites have all the correct details for my smurf as they should be.
Wondering if deleting my smurf will restore balance to the Fail Force, but I really don't want to kill the poor guy - he's way better than s3xy_j0nny :weep:
Got about 60k points til next rank up fors_j, so gonna see if that restores everything before killing poor old smurf.
Any ideas, anyone? Wanted to post here for everyone to see, in order to cover myself in case of any repercussions or stats glitches making me look dodge.
