The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 brings the original Left 4 Dead Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay.

Left 4 Dead 2 will be automatically updated with this free add-on. To celebrate this release, L4D2 and the 4-Pack will be 33% off until Monday.

About the update:

[color=white][b]
"The Passing" features 3 new maps, new weekly game modes (Mutations), a new "uncommon common" zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), firearm (M-60), support for infected bot play in Versus, 10 new achievements and more!

Played the new content this weekend...
Nice stage which fits in between picking up the race car at the mall, and the 'traffic jam' where you abandon the car.

The new zombie is a nice addition, as he carries a med pack you can pick up when you cap him. But he's a bit of a bugger as, as soon as you see him, he starts running away.
The M60 is sweet, but it can't be reloaded, so my suggestion is to load it up with incendiary or frag rounds, and use your pistols until the hectic parts where you need the firepower to decimate large numbers of zombies and their tough buddies (invariably the end stage).

On a similar theme...
Has anyone received the 'your files don't match the ones on the Steam Cloud' message?
WTF? They gave me the files. It's not like I went looking for the update, so how can the files they automatically uploaded to my machine not match the ones they have in their 'cloud'?

"The Cloud" is actually just a place to store your settings and saved-games (if you want)

SO: If you don't go configure it, then yep - your saved games you have on your local machine will NOT match the ones on the cloud.

IOW: the message you are getting is that the stored saved-games/configs on the Steam Cloud do no match the ones on your PC.

Make sense?

thanks for coming, please exit stage left

Found a whole bunch of DLC mod campaigns for L4D and L4D2.
http://www.l4dmaps.com/

So far, I've DL'd 'Evil Eyes' and 'Carried off' and played them through in both single player and online.
Both very good L4D2 campaigns. Graphics, sounds, etc. all top-notch.
Also, 'I hate mountains' for the original L4D is very good, but also pretty difficult.

Oops. :slap:
I forgot to mention that in order to use L4D2 add-on campaigns, Steam will do a 817Mb DL first time you try run one. Some 'add-on support file' thingymabob.
