Thanks guys for a few awesome rounds! Was my first real go at the game and took about 20mins to work out where I was.

Still some things I need to work on...
I'm sure I'll look back at this one day and ROFLMAO!

My frame rate sux!!!! I can't really play until I fix this. One of the biggest problems is not having the quad-core. Will sort that out soon, I hope ;). Once the play slows down and there are less than 10 players on the server, its manageable. Frame rate drops to about 5-10 fps with more players.

Working out how the game-play works. Looks like the COD style of plant the bomb, but the locations keep moving every time you succeed?
Where do they move to and what happens with everyone's spawn points?
How does someone become a squad leader? Are there 'camping' zones that should be out of bounds?
What are the little bomb-like balls for? I got hold of them once but they disappeared after that round. How did I get them?
Kit swapping? Is this still possible? I saw a medic die next to me while I was recon. Died trying to work out where his kit was.

So gravy, here's your tips

1. The RUSH format of the game is that there are 2 Sites to set and destroy per Combat Zone, there are 4 Zones.
To progress to the next combat zone, the attacking team must destroy both Sites.
Attacking team wins when all 4 Combat zone sites are destroyed

2. Spawn points: Any member of the 4 man squads are spawn points plus each Combat Zone has a default Spawn zone - which is randomly placed around the back end of the combat zone.

3. The Combat zones have area limits, so that the attacking team cannot go past the current Combat Zone, nor can the defending team.

4. The Bomb-like balls are from the RECON kit, they are thrown or placed and have an area of effect which basically highlights enemies within that area of effect. Much like a mini UAV
- so to speak.

5. Kit swapping, the downed soldiers kits can be picked up - the Kit is the WEAPON, so if you see a gun on the ground, you can pick that soldiers kit up with the E key.

6. The Q key is like the universal spot/request key. When an enemy is visible in the middle of your sceen, hitting Q spots him so that he is highlighted with a RED triangle for your entire team -
for a short duration. Q can also be used to request AMMO or Medic Packs from your team, Aim at your Teamy with a Medic sign above his head and hit Q will say "I NEED PLASTERS" or the guy with the lightning Bolt "OI where's that toolbox with grenades in it chop!"

Where do they move to and what happens with everyone's spawn points?

You will learn this pretty quicks as there is only one map on the BETA. As each pair of targets is destroyed, the USMC are pushed back to the next pair of targets. The Ruskies can then spawn at the targets they have just destroyed to stop them having to trek all the way from the initial insertion point. The map is fairly linear, with a slight curve between the final 2 pairs of targets. The USMC spawn points are on whichever targets they are currently defending.

How does someone become a squad leader? Are there 'camping' zones that should be out of bounds?

There is no squad leader - you can spawn on any member of your squad, with the exception of the USMC who cannot spawn on a squad member who is at a target pairing that has been destroyed. ie, if the Ruskies take the first two target points, and one of your squad members is still lurking by them, you cannot spawn on that squad member, but instead must spawn at the new defense targets. AFAIK, the out of bounds areas are effectively enforced in the same way as BF2 was - go out of the boundaries and you have a 10 second countdown to being shot for desertion. As it is still BETA, there has been no time for SGS to make up their own set of rules about safety zones or areas of unfair play etc.

What are the little bomb-like balls for? I got hold of them once but they disappeared after that round. How did I get them?

Unless you are talking about grenades, (which are mini hand-held explosive devices used as anti-infantry weapons), I suspect you mean the mini personal uav things which, when thrown, provide a motion sensor for a small area where they land. If any person or vehicle moves through its area of effect, they will show up on your mini map. People killed whilst highlighted by your uav balls earn you 'motion sensor spot assists'. If you had them and they disappeared, it could either be:
a gremlin which occurs quite frequently whereby you lose unlocks and/or ranks temporarily for random amounts of time, or
the fact that you changed kits perhaps? AFAIK, only the recon kit has the little UAV balls, but I stand to be corrected.

Kit swapping? Is this still possible? I saw a medic die next to me while I was recon. Died trying to work out where his kit was.

You can pick up a dead man's kit by pressing 'E' when standing over their weapon - usually, a little game script will pop up underneath your crosshair showing the type of kit and saying 'Press E to pick up kit' (cryptic I know...)

Hope this helps whilst still sounding disdainful and sarcastic.

EDIT: FUCKIT, Lee beat me to it. :sneaky:

LOL Jono

Just one addition... you spawn on ur living squad members by clicking on their name at the bottom left of your screen and say "enter battle". There is a re-spawn time and it counts down for you.
