I went in to a bt-Games store this afternoon and pre-ordered the game. Paid upfront (which they don't normally do, I was told).

The dude at the counter told me that the confirmation of my order would be mailed to my account. I double checked with him about the cd-key for the beta version which he said would be part of the mail. The mail finally arrived at about 7pm (I found that in my spam folder)...

Problem is that its just a pre-order confirmation with a receipt number attached. How do I go about finding the cd-key for the beta version?
Where did you guys find your cd-key? Maybe I'm missing a simple step here but I can't work out where to find it atm.

I went to BT games and pre-order, also paid in full. They took my email address and sent me the beta key. I think just phone them and tune them

Yes, as we discussed Grav. The email confirmations of payment, etc are separate from you receiving your Beta Key.

One worry I have is that BT games might have run out of Beta Keys. AFAIK, each distributor had a certain amount of keys allocated to them.
For example, its been widely publicized that Take2 has run out of keys.

If I were you, Grav, I'd email/phone them to inquire about the key.

Hey Adrian!

Problem!!!

I'm supposed to get a beta cd-key when I pre-order.

Hopefully you'll be able to assist with this or at least point me to the person I'm supposed to get this from.

Thanks
Lawrence

This kind of bothered me cause of the "DUE", and having paid R325 already in store, I figured something was wrong.

So I went into the store again this morning to double check on it...
The guy who helped yesterday wasn't in today, but that didn't matter too much 'cause I brought my payment receipt with and finally got someone to sit down and have a look at my problem.
After a few minutes on the pc, she said it seems the person helping me yesterday didn't update their system that they were paid. I waved the receipt in front of her a bit and she said she updated the system already, I'll get the cd-key later.

I'm a little frustrated and wait for my mail with the cd-key...
At 5pm, I get a mail from Adrian/Jeremy...

Hi there.

The store you paid at didn’t update your order so we haven’t been able to see that you have paid. I will send you your beta key tomorrow, sorry about the inconvenience.

Kind Regards,

Jeremy

WHAT!? Tomorrow????

so I reply with a polite...

Thank you for your help.

I don't really trust the monkeys behind the desk in the East Rand shopping centre. (Except the one nice lady that tries her best to help but she's a trainee).

I was at the store this afternoon and double checked with them that they had all the details regarding the order/payment. They even confirmed that they had updated the payment details... something I find strange considering you say that they haven't?

The reason I went into the store and pre-order online was to make sure there was no problem. I would have even paid less had I bought online! And I would have probably had my cd-key by now.

I find this extremely frustrating

Lawrence

Now I sit and wait. Hopefully Adrian/Jeremy will be kind enough to let me have a cd-key.
